At the same time that I picked up the Alice Through The Looking Glass Palette, I also selected 2 of the lipsticks from the collection, “Mad Hatter” and “Alice”. Mad Hatter is currently my favorite lipstick. I love everything about it! The color is beautiful! It lasts literally all day and has very little transfer when eating/drinking. The shade Alice on the other hand did transfer when eating/drinking and thus did not wear as long. Neither shade had any ‘bleeding’ or smearing and both shades were moisturizing and creamy. Because of the wear time, Alice is not a repurchase for me but I’m kicking myself in the head that I did not buy another tube of Mad Hatter. This is a limited edition collection so there is no telling if Mad Hatter will get a permanent stay with Urban Decay or not and it is currently sold out online. I’m going to hit the road and check all the Sephoras’ and Ultas’ in my area to try and find a Mad Hatter tube in store. I’m wearing Mad Hatter every day and may run out soon! I cannot speak for the other colors in this collection since I have not tried them.

Urban Decay states:

“Inspired by the new fantasy-adventure film release of Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass, Urban Decay’s limited-edition shades of Lipstick pay tribute to some of the main characters from the film: Alice, Mad Hatter, Mirana (the White Queen), Iracebeth (the Red Queen) and Time, a peculiar creature who is part human, part clock.”

“Pair the Lipsticks with the Alice Through the Looking Glass Eyeshadow Palette and you’ll have everything you need to recreate the looks from the film. From sheer nude with a pink shift and bright red matte to gunmetal-navy with silver shimmer, these shades range from classic to edgy. Regardless of the finish (sheer, shimmery or matte), each shade has a super-creamy feel and provides rich payout.”

Price: $18.00

Features:

 Size 0.11 oz

The newest Urban Decay eyeshadow palette fits the theme of Alice in Wonderland. It contains a very fun color selection and has pretty packaging. I love the color range for fun Summer looks and have not experienced any fallout. It has decent longevity. However, not every shade is made equal. Some of the shades in the palette have better color payoff than others. Also, I have a preference for palettes that are more portable. While the packaging is adorable, it’s too bulky and thus not portable. It ends up resting on my art table as decoration and therefore I don’t find myself reaching for it very often or throwing it in my “on the go” makeup bag.

Urban Decay states:

“Inspired by the new fantasy-adventure film release of Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass, this limited-edition, pop-up palette is a trippy tribute to some of the main characters from the film.”

“Alice Through the Looking Glass Eyeshadow Palette—the sequel to Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows (one of Urban Decay’s most iconic palettes ever)—features 20 ALL-NEW shades. From softer shades inspired by Alice’s look in the film to bold, bright shades like those seen on the Mad Hatter.”

“Using this visually stunning film as inspiration, Urban Decay painstakingly created the perfect mix of shades, then arranged them all in columns by character and put them in an intricately designed, collectible palette. Match up the columns to steal their looks or mix up these shades to create countless others.”

Price: $60.00

Features:

20 x 0.04 oz Eye shadows in Looking Glass (pale pink demi-matte), Reflection (soft peach matte), Dormouse (warm brown matte with floating gold micro-sparkle), Metamorphosis (vibrant periwinkle blue with micro-sparkle), Hatter (vibrant green with tonal micro-sparkle), Gone Mad (aubergine with pink iridescent pearl), Paradox (vibrant orange with gold pearl), Cake (saturated blue-pink with silver micro-shimmer), Lily (opal pink pearl), Duchess (peach with pink shift and micro-sparkle), Kingdom (copper-bronze pearl), Chessboard (medium brown matte), Heads Will Roll (vibrant turquoise with gold micro-sparkle), Bandersnatch (deep teal matte), Salazen Grum (metallic crimson), Royal Flush (pale beige shimmer), Time (black-navy satin with soft iridescent micro-sparkle), Dream On (metallic purple-silver), Chronosphere (metallic deep bronze), Mirror (gray-taupe satin)

Pros:

Lasts most of the day

Fun color selection

Fun packaging

No fallout

Cons:

Not every shade has good color payoff

Bulky packaging is not necessary

Would I Purchase Again?:

No.

Once again, after my fantastic experience with the champagne collection face palette, I wanted to try everything from the collection and got the Shimmering Skin Perfector. I tried it mixed in with my primer, mixed it into my foundation, and by itself under my foundation. The glow that you can get from this product is incredible! Love the glow and pinky/golden undertones. Also, the product feels light weight. That being said, it is not effective as a primer alone, just as an addition. It will not prolong the life of your makeup and after about 6 hours, my skin began to feel oily. If you are looking for liquid glow and don’t care about primer or would like to mix it into your primer, then I recommend this product. However, I will say that I can get all the glow I need in the Champagne Collection Face Palette and save my $41.00.

Becca states: Shimmering Skin Perfector Champagne Pop—the highlighter that started it all—allows you to amplify your natural radiance. The Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured Crème Champagne Pop adds a subtle, sophisticated glow to accentuate the high points of your face. Achieve effortless, dewy luminosity and a soft-focus, healthy-looking glow with Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Champagne Pop.

Price: $41.00

Features:

1.7 oz Shimmering Skin Perfector™ – Champagne Pop – soft white gold w/ pinky peach undertones

How To Use:
Wear on the high points of the face to accentuate.
Mix with your favorite foundation or moisturizer for an allover glow.
Wear on the body for head to toe glow.
Layer over your favorite blush to create a wet luminous glow.
Mix in with your favorite foundation for an all over glowing finish.

Pros:

Light weight

Glow, glow, glow!

Pinky/golden undertones

Cons:

Doesn’t prolong the longevity of my makeup. Do not consider it a primer.

Makes my skin feel a little oily after approximately 6 hours

Would I Purchase Again?:

No.

This is another exciting new launch for Becca Cosmetics and Jaclyn Hill. I was pleasantly surprised by my face palette from this collection and therefore decided that I had to get the eyeshadow palette as well. After reading my review on the face palette, you will see that I truly LOVE the Champagne collection face palette. Thus, I wanted to love the eyeshadow palette from the Champagne collection too. However, it does not compete with its big sister (the face palette). The product has a smooth application, lasts most of the day, does not get cakey and includes flattering colors for all complexions. That being said, I have eyeshadow palettes with similar colors in them (such as the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette). Also, the color payoff is not as vivid as I would have liked and after wearing a complete eye look for about 4 hours, I started to get eye irritation. I have slightly sensitive eyes so do not make your judgment based on that alone but I will say that I can wear Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons eyeshadow for 10 or more hours and experience no irritation.

Becca states: A must-have palette with five limited-edition, warm neutral eye shadows—including the exclusive Champagne Toast shade, created by Jaclyn Hill.

Price: $40.00 (Average price area)

Features:

5 x 0.06 oz Eye Shades in Chardonnay (sheer gold with flashes of pink and soft yellow), Champagne Toast (reflective peach with a dash of cinnamon), Cordial (matte rose with warm undertones), Cognac (flattering matte coffee), Bordeaux (rich matte wine with chocolate undertones)

Pros:

Smooth Application

Lasts most of the day

Does not get cakey

Flattering colors for all complexions

Cons:

 Slightly Irritates Sensitive Eyes

Color payoff is not what I wanted it to be

I can find the same colors in palettes that I like more

Would I Purchase Again?:

No.

IMG_8596Where do I start! This palette is incredible! Everything about it is stunning. The color selection is fantastic. The packaging is adorable and sleek. The color payoff is huge and the glow will knock you off your feet. This is the first face palette that I have reviewed that has not had a con for me. I’m not disappointed with any part of it. The product is good for all skin types and tones. I have sensitive skin and it does not irritate me. I went to work for 12 hours and still came home looking like the planet Jupiter could see my highlighter.

Becca states: A limited-edition, iconic face palette, featuring five shades of highlighter and blush—in collaboration with Jaclyn Hill, creator of the original Champagne Pop.

Price: $52.00 (decent price for a face palette)

Features:

2 x 0.19 oz Shimmering Skin Perfector™ Pressed highlighter shades in Champagne Pop (soft white gold with pinky peach undertones), Prosecco Pop (medium warm gold). The Highlighter in the Prosecco Pop shade is inspired by liquid gold.

2 x 0.12 oz Mineral Blush in Amaretto (matte toasted almond), Pamplemousse (matte warm coral pink)

0.10 oz Luminous Blush in Rosé Spritz (soft peachy pink with pale gold shimmer)

Pros:

Color Payoff

Smooth Application

Lasts all day

Does not get cakey

Flattering colors for all complexions

Does not irritate sensitive skin

Cons:

For the first time ever, I can say, None!

Would I Purchase Again?:

Yes!!!!! I would purchase this again and again.

I received a box in the mail today from Tarte containing a palette that was born from a new and exciting collaboration between Bunny (Grav3YardGirl) and Tarte Cosmetics. I anxiously ripped open the box to discover a palette that showcases the famous YouTubers personality. The antique wood grain appearance, old west inspired fool’s gold trim/interior accents, inspirational quote “Believe In Yourself, Love Yourself, Embrace Your Individuality” on the mirror, and of course the iconic Grav3YardGirl logo (a gator with wings), are all components that scream BUNNY! The Swamp Queen palette is truly designed with the “Swamp Family” in mind.

As mentioned above, the packaging is a plus for this product. However, let’s get down to the most important element, the product. The color range is excellent. You can create day and night looks. The color payoff is also very good (see example swatches above) with the exception of “#SFS” and “Big Baby”. For some reason those colors did not standout well on my skin. That being said, I have a fair complexion and when I get tan this Summer, those colors may show up better. The only major con I had with the product is that it got a bit cakey in my crease area and part of my lid toward the end of a very hot day. However, considering that I had it on for 10 hours before experiencing any cakeing, I am more than willing to ignore that and search for some AC at the 8 hour mark.

Tarte states: “A limited-edition, full face palette co-created with YouTube personality @grav3yardgirl.”

Price: $45.00 (very reasonable for a full face palette)

Features: Limited-edition shades include:

#SFS (rose gold)

natural peaches (peachy nude)

dogman (burnt sienna)

big baby (cream)

sassy bun (copper peach)

sippy sippy (glittery brown)

haunting (lavender)

uncommon (purple slate)

mancat (deep plum)

sweet tea (bronzer)

gator wings (highlighter)

does this thing really work? (blush)

Pros:

Packaging

Color Payoff

Price

Size

Easy to travel with

Mirror included

Good color range

Brush included

Versatility: Blush, Bronzer, Highlighter, Lids, Under Brow, Crease, Waterline.

Cons:

A little fallout when using the eyeshadows

Can get a bit cakey in hot weather conditions

The colors “Big Baby” and “#SFS” do not have as much color payoff as I would desire

Would I Purchase Again?:

Yes. While it is not my favorite palette that I have tried, it is very versatile and easy to throw in my travel bag so I would give this palette another purchase. However, it is limited edition so there is no telling if it will come around again.
