Hello everyone!

Today’s review is on a Marc Jacobs lipstick, Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème. Color: Core Cora 234-brilliant coral. I was browsing thorough my Sephora app on my phone recently, looking for some fun, Summer inspired, lipstick colors and I came across this Marc Jacobs coral color lip product. I have enjoyed my Marc Jacobs products in the past so I decided to give this one a try.

Marc Jacobs states: “A rich, velvety, ultra-hydrating lipstick that delivers a dramatic punch of vivid pigment and endless hours of luxurious wear.”

Price: $30.00

Pros: Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème is certainly hydrating just like what is advertised. It easily glides on your lips and leaves a very moisturized feeling. The pigmentation is incredible. My coral color choice was very rich and vibrant. The color definitely ‘pops’ which is a quality that I always look for in my lipstick. In addition, the packaging on this product is sleek, appealing, and durable. I have a tendency to, occasionally, drop my lipsticks so I’m always concerned about cracking the tube. However, this tube will not break anytime soon.

Very hydrating

Incredible Pigment quality

Durable packaging

Cons: At $30.00 per tube, Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème is pricey. However, it does not exceed its competitors in the luxury beauty industry. Thus, the cost was not unusual in my opinion. However, the thing that did hit me the wrong way was its length of wear. Based on its description, I was expecting it to have a decent wear time. I was excited to finally find a hydrating lipstick that could potentially last like a matte lipstick. However, Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème came off pretty easily with only a sip of ice tea. I have become accustom to wearing matte lip products so I’m use to a little longer wear time. I was making constant touch-ups the first day I wore this product. On the second day, to fix that annoyance, I used my “Perfect Red Lips” trick that I recently wrote about in the Tips & Tricks section of this website. After applying my “Perfect Red Lips” trick, I found that my coral Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème did last longer and felt a bit more matte.

Does not last very long (touch-ups needed frequently)

Pricey

Would I Purchase This Again?: No. While I love almost all of my Marc Jacobs products that I have tried, this one is just too much of a hassle. Perhaps I have just grown use to matte lipsticks but while the hydration was a nice quality and the pigmentation was fantastic, the touch-ups/maintenance was time consuming throughout the day and not worth it in my opinion.

1. Don’t apply black liner all around your eye and in your waterline. (e.g. If you wear black liner on your lash line the wear brown on your waterline.)

2. Don’t apply lipstick without sharpening the edges. (e.g. Use concealer to outline around the edges of your natural lip area, then blend slightly in order to look more natural. This will make your lipstick ‘Pop’ and give you clean edges.)

3. Don’t pull your eyelid when applying eyeliner.

4. Don’t fill in your brows with the same amount of brow powder or liner all over. (e.g. Intensify your archers with your brow color of choice, then brush to blend out.)

5. Don’t test new foundation on your cheek. Test it on your neck instead.

6. Don’t use the same concealer to cover both under-eye circles and pimples. (e.g. Use a creamy concealer that matches your skin tone for blemishes.)

7. Don’t rely on just concealer when covering pimple scars. (e.g. Foundation first, concealer second, then setting powder.)

8. Don’t apply your concealer in a moon shape under your eye. (e.g. Make an upside down triangle shape under your eye, then blend out.)

9. Don’t apply bronzer all over your face. (e.g. Only apply it in the shape of a “ 3 ”.)

10. Don’t use cream moisturizer all over your face if you have oily skin. (Use a mattifying gel moisturizer instead.)

Achieving the perfect red lips sometimes seems impossible. What’s even a step worse, is finding the perfect shade, only to have it rub off after your first bite into a meal. There are tons of lip products that claim to last all day. However, not only can these products be expensive but many of them also don’t work! Time to change that with the easy trick below.

What You Need:

  • Red lipstick
  • 1 tissue (separate so that you have a single ply.)
  • Loose Powder
  • Small makeup Brush

Instructions:

  • Apply lipstick
  • Hold ply of tissue along the shape of your lip
  • Dip your brush into the loose powder, making sure that you have a good dab
  • Apply the powder on the outside of the tissue while it is pressed against your lips
  • Gently remove the tissue and your lipstick should have a matte finish and last longer

Hello everyone!

Back again with another review. I recently got a Marc Jacobs Plush Eye Shadow Set, Style: Eye-Con No. 7, Color: The Lover 220. It’s the first time I have tested Marc Jacobs Eye Shadow and I savored the experience.

Marc Jacob 4Marc Jaob 5

Marc Jacobs states: “Eye-Conic Colors. Luxurious Effects. Pure Performance.”

Price: $59.00

Pros: Marc Jacobs Plush Eye Shadow Set came with 7 shadows. 3 pinkish looking colors, 3 bronze variations, and 1 beige. I sampled all 7 in different combinations. All 7 have great pigmentation, last all day, and have smooth application. In addition, the packaging looks sleek.

Pretty appearance/ presentation

Great pigmentation

Lasts all day

Easy application

Cons: Marc Jacobs Plush Eye Shadows are obviously costly. At nearly $60.00 for a total net weight of 0.198 oz. the quantity of shadow will not last me very long. I will easily go through these shadows in no time and thus spend another $59.00 very soon. However, $59.00 is a pretty common price area for luxury brand beauty products. That being said, I have not compared these shadows to other luxury brand beauty shadows such as Chanel or Lorac, which have a similar price range, but once I do, I will write a comparison post about the differences.

Pricey

Would I Purchase This Again?: Yes, I would purchase this product again. I loved the colors, pigmentation, and length of wear. In my opinion, it is worth spending $59.00 to pamper my eyelids.

Hello everyone!

Today’s review is on imPRESS Nails. imPRESS nails have been noticeable at my local drug stores. imPRESS seems to be heavily marketing themselves. I see them constantly at Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid. After passing them numerous times in the drugstore cosmetics section, I decided that it was finally time to try a pair. I was ‘impressed’ with the design diversity. imPRESS offers a multitude of cute designs.

Impress 1 impress 2 impress 3

imPRESS states: “Instant Manicure. Wont Damage Nails. Rivals The Best Gel Polish. Easy Removal. Lasts up to a Week.”

Price: Between $4.00 and $8.00 per pack based on design and location of purchase.

Pros: I recently purchased imPRESS Nails with the intention of testing their quality and practicality. I was ‘impressed’ with how easy they are to apply, the design diversity that is available, their ‘salon quality’ appearance, and the lack of damage that they left on my natural nail. Also, imPRESS Nails are much more affordable than a formal manicure day and are easy to apply.

Lots of design options

Affordable

Quick and Easy to apply

No mess application

Easy to remove

Does not damage your natural nail

Salon quality appearance

Cons: imPRESS advertises on their packaging that their nails should last up to a week when applied properly. I followed the instruction and applied them perfectly in my opinion, yet my set only lasted 3 days. That being said, I did participate in normal life activities while wearing them: 4 showers with them on, 1 hair washing, normal hand washing, and 1 load of dishes. Perhaps, if I would have had an aversion to water and soap, the nails would have lasted longer. However, I do not usually utilize products that inhibit my normal functioning. Also, the length of the actual fake nails was a little shorter than my natural nails. Thus, I had to cut my natural length off in order to wear them.

Does not, necessarily, last as long as you would like

Cutting of your natural nail may be required

Would I Purchase This Again?: Yes, I would purchase this product again. I recommend these nails for special occasions when you want something quick and easy to apply that still looks like you visited the salon. imPRESS Nails are decent in price and visually pleasing. I will be picking up another package in the near future for any last minute birthdays, surprise parties, or graduations I get invited to.

Hello everyone!

Today’s review is on the IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation. It is a powder foundation and I purchased it in the Light shade from one of my local ULTA stores. It also comes in Fair, Medium, Tan, and Rich. The compact that the product is packaged in comes with a small foundation brush for application. However, I found that I preferred my own Sephora brand foundation brush for application.

Note about my skin type: I have light and sensitive skin. I do not usually experience any dryness or oil issues. However, it is Summer time and sweat/ tanning slightly changes the use of cosmetics.

IT Cosmetics states: “The next generation of IT Cosmetics® full coverage, Anti-Aging foundation. It’s truly 30 seconds to full coverage illumination for your skin! This Illuminating formula features the same good for you, skin loving ingredients you have come to know and love with original Celebration Foundation®, but with the added element of Illumination to add a subtle touch of radiance to your skin. Formulated with Hydrolyzed Collagen, Peptides, Anti-Oxidants and Drops of Light™ Technology for the ultimate, soft, candlelit glow complexion. This full coverage foundation is infused with key ingredients such as Niacin, Hyaluronic Acid, Rose, Silk and Aloe that help to leave skin fresh and hydrated, never dry or cakey!”

Price: $35.00

Pros: I recently wore this foundation while visiting a very warm area for a friend’s birthday. It was between 98° and 100° Fahrenheit for all three days that I was there. Needless to say I did sweat a bit while participating in vacation activities. I wore IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination for the entire trip and found that although I participated in multiple vacation type activities, my foundation did not crease or crack and it stayed on for 75% of the day. I had a very positive experience with this product and found that it had excellent coverage and great pigmentation.

  • Good Coverage
  • Long Lasting
  • Good Pigmentation
  • Does Not Crease or Crack
  • Does Not Feel Dry or Cakey
  • Good For Sensitive Skin
  • Pleasant Packaging

Cons: The only major concern about this product is the cost. At $35.00 per 0.30 oz. compact, IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination, is a bit pricey. I can see myself using this foundation often and thus, purchasing it often. There are definitely cheaper foundations out there that are of decent quality.

  • Pricey

Would I Purchase This Again?: Yes, I would definitely purchase this product again. While it is a bit more expensive than other foundations I have tried, in my opinion, it is worth it. It is the best foundation I have tested so far.
